What we want to read

Pitch an explanation, comparison, visual reading or piece of design history with a distinct central question. Tell us what readers will understand by the end, why the subject matters beyond a single trend and what examples or sources would support the piece.

Make the idea clear

A focused pitch names its subject, point of view and likely shape. Avoid broad claims about what everyone likes or needs; show how the article will distinguish description from opinion and make room for relevant context. Original angles and precise examples are more useful than a list of loosely related topics.
